What is UChoose Rewards?
A rewards program where you earn points every time you use your Visa® Platinum Credit Card and sign for your purchases. How do I earn points?
You earn points for every signature credit transaction with your Visa® Platinum Credit Card
and additional points for shopping at participating retailers, whether it’s in-store or at national or local retailers through www.UChooseRewards.com.
*When making a purchase at store, if the machine automatically asks for your PIN after you swipe your card, press cancel and the signature line will come up for you to sign. PIN transactions and balance transfers do not qualify toward reward points.
Do I earn points for transactions at an ATM?
Points cannot be earned on personal banking transactions such as ATM withdrawals, deposits, balance inquiries, transfers, and cash advances.
Where can I earn points?
Everywhere your card is accepted. You can earn additional points by shopping at participating retailers. View a complete list of participating retailers at www.UChooseRewards.com.
When can I redeem my points?
It can take up to 60 days for your points to be credited to your account. Once your points are credited to your account, you can redeem them for any number of amazing items. Simply look for your “Total Points Available for Redemption” on the Point Details page to see how many points you have available for redemption.
What can I redeem my points for?
It’s your choice! You can choose merchandise, travel experiences, activities, event tickets and more! We keep track of all the points you earn and will help you find just what you are looking for when you are ready to redeem. Can I share points with other accounts?

EMV
EMV, which stands for Europay, Mastercard and Visa®, is a global standard for payment cards using embedded microchips. People’s Visa® Platinum credit cards have an embedded microchip that allows you to pay at merchants where chip cards are accepted. EMV also provides improved security and protection against fraud.
In addition to the embedded microchip, People’s Visa® Platinum credit cards also have a magnetic stripe on the back. That way you can continue to make purchases by swiping your card and signing a receipt or using your PIN.

What is a chip-enhanced credit card?
Chip-enhanced, sometimes called “chip cards” or “smart cards,” have a microchip embedded in the card. The chip is encrypted and provides stronger security and protection against fraud.
What kind of information is stored on the chip?
The microchip embedded in the card stores information required to authenticate, authorize and process transactions. No personal information about your account is stored on the chip card.
What makes EMV cards more secure?
EMV cards store payment information in a secure chip rather than on a magnetic stripe. Unlike a magnetic stripe card, it is nearly impossible for thieves to create counterfeit EMV chip cards. That’s because these chips encrypt data differently for each transaction (dynamic authentication).
Will my card work outside the United States?
Yes, your new chip card will work all over the world at any merchant who accepts Visa® cards.
Do I need to notify you when I travel?
Yes, if you are planning on using your Visa® Platinum credit card outside of the United States, contact us by phone 24/7, e-mail, or by coming into one of our branches with your itinerary and we will unblock your card.
Can I still swipe my card?
Yes, your People’s Visa® Platinum chip-enhanced card has the flexibility to be used either in an EMV-enabled terminal or swiped on a magnetic stripe reader.
How can I get an EMV chip-enhanced Visa® Credit Card?
All of People’s Visa® Platinum credit cards issued are EMV chip-enhanced cards.
Are there any additional fees associated with the EMV cards?
No additional fees apply to EMV credit cards.
How do I make a transaction with my new card?
Merchants in the United States are beginning to accommodate EMV cards by using a chip-enhanced terminals. If the merchant is not able to accept EMV cards, you will make purchases by swiping your card and signing a receipt.
To make a transaction, just follow these easy steps:
- Rather than swiping your card, insert the chip portion of the card into the terminal with the chip facing up and leave the card in the terminal until the transaction is complete. If you remove the card too soon, the transaction will end and your purchase will not be processed.
- Follow the prompts on the terminal’s screen.
- When your transaction is complete, the terminal screen will prompt you to remove your card.
For restaurant transactions, the terminal may be brought to your table to complete the transaction.
